Instructor Introductions: ELISE

Elise P A born and bred midwesterner, Elise moved to Boston from Ann Arbor, Michigan in 2008 to pursue a dual Masters in Social Work/Masters in Public Health at Boston University.  Elise has been a certified Mad Dogg spin instructor teaching spin classes since 2007, and recently Elise became certified in Primary Group Exercise through AFAA.  A competitive swimmer in high school, Elise has competed in an Olympic distance triathlon and multiple half marathons.  Elise choreographs each of her rides to the beat , rhythm and speed of the music, with a fun mix of hip hop, pop, and dance-inspired tunes.  Elise fuses her passion for heart pumping music with a mentally and physically challenging ride, creating a mind-body-cardio-dance party on the bike!

What is one thing most people don’t know about you?

I drive a stick shift!

What’s your favorite brunch spot?

I live in the South End, the Mecca of Boston brunch, and I have to pick just one??  So many good options, but The Beehive takes the cake.  Their braised beef shortrib, fontina, and cheddar grilled cheese with a Bloody Mary–perfection.

What’s your favorite beer? (Or drink)

My favorite beer is either White Rascal or Slumbrew Happy Sol.  Favorite drink, hands down, is the Valentino at The Beehive–love me some blood orange!

What would I find in your refrigerator right now?  

Pesto w/ chicken and spaghetti squash, spinach, broccoli, oranges, strawberries, apples, a sweet potato, almond milk, plain Greek yogurt, cheddar cheese, and a huge tupperware container of my home-made Nutella & peanut butter energy balls.

What’s your favorite sports team?

 OB-SESSED with University of Michigan football.  #GOBLUE #HAIL
