“I’ll make it to the moon if I have to crawl” – Red Hot Chili Peppers
We see it all the time – people falling into a rhythm, a pattern, something well known and practiced. Day in and day out waking up and going through a routine, guaranteeing your feet firmly planted on the ground. So you ask, “Why fix something that isn’t broken?”
That mentality has never pursued greatness, and has certainly never achieved change. I can’t speak for everyone, but I know I want more.
We’ve been given this one-time amazing opportunity: life. Don’t waste a single second of it. Go above the status quo… beyond what is expected… always reach for more. Test the boundaries of your comfort zone and push yourself further.
What I’ve found the most rewarding is stepping into the unknown and taking risks – even failing – but being stronger for it in the end. An important lesson is learning that failure is a mental phenomenon more than a physical one. Someone can “fail” 100 times at something, but on that 101st try when they get it… that’s success. That’s perseverance. And how sweet is that victory, right?
So crawl to the moon if you have to… just get there!
I’ll race you. 😉
